These two villages have one congregation which shares two churches.
Over Silton is our “summer church” because it sits in the middle of a cow pasture which can become very muddy in the winter (and sometimes in the summer too!). Also it has no electricity and hence no heating or artificial light. Worship by candle light is very atmospheric but it does get rather cold. So from Harvest Festival until Easter we worship in Nether Silton which is more accessible (and better resourced).

Following Evensong on 22nd July 2012, the commemoration of our patron saint St.Mary Magdelene, a bench was dedicated in Over Silton churchyard. Presented by the Over Silton History Society it marks the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11.
